Course Overview

This course covers the skills and knowledge required to safely erect and install swing stage scaffold.

Participants will learn how to:

 

• Plan the job in accordance with Workplace Health & Safety requirements and the Scaffolding Code of Practice 2009
• Select and inspect scaffolding and associated equipment
• Set up swing stage scaffolding
• Install and commission scaffolding equipment
• Dismantle scaffolding and associated equipment

 

Entry Requirements

Participants will need to hold a licence in Advanced Scaffolding or in Advanced Rigging.

 

Delivery

All training and assessment is conducted at our “One Stop Training Shop” located at 219 Forestry Road, Landsborough, however, courses can be conducted at the client's premises provided the training room facilities and the available swing stage scaffold are suitable. 

 

Duration

This course is held over two (2) days and includes theory and practical training and assessment.

 

Fees and Charges

The Course fee of $950 is payable at commencement of course.

 

Refund Policy

The Refund Policy confirms that refunds are provided as appropriate within an acceptable time frame.

 

Units of Competency

This course covers one (1) Unit of Competency:  30825QLD – Course in the Safe Erection/Installation of Swing Stage Scaffolds

 

Employability Skills

Completion of this course will broaden the Advanced Scaffolding or Advanced Rigging skills of the participant to include the safe erection/installation of Swing Stage Scaffold in accordance with the Scaffolding Code of Practice 2009.

 

Participants will be able to:
• Effectively communicate and work safely with others in the work area.
• Effectively apply risk assessment and hazard management procedures at an advanced scaffolder and advance rigger level.
• Effectively complete the planning, installation, commissioning and dismantling of swing stage scaffolding systems in accordance with procedures and appropriate standards
• Effectively use safety harness and travel restraint systems.
• Completion of a handover certificate as required


Licensing Regulations

Upon successful completion of the unit, participants will be issued with a Statement of Attainment.

• Conduct swing stage operations
• Shut down and secure swing stage scaffolding

 

Entry Requirements

No previous requirements are needed, however participants will need to have basic literacy/numeracy skills.

All training and assessment is conducted at our “One Stop Training Shop” located at 219 Forestry Road, Landsborough, however, courses can be conducted at the client's premises provided the training room facilities are suitable.

This course is held over one (1) day and includes face to face training and theory assessment.

This course covers one (1) Unit of Competency:  30826QLD – Course in the Safe Use of Swing Stage Scaffolds

 

Employability Skills

Completion of this course will enable participants to safely use Swing Stage Scaffolding in accordance with the Scaffolding Code of Practice 2009.

 

Participants will be able to:


• Comply with OHS legislation
• Effectively communicate and work safely with others in the work area.
• Effectively identify hazards associated with the operation of a swing stage scaffold and apply risk assessment and hazard management procedures.
• Effectively determine Working Load Limits
• Effectively use safety harness and travel restraint systems.
• Effectively conduct swing stage scaffold operations to include tasks of lowering and raising in conjunction with awareness of the limitations of the swing stage scaffold according to the manufacturer’s specifications.
• Ensure swing stage scaffold controls are attended throughout operation.
• Effectively conduct emergency lowering of the swing stage scaffold according to the emergency procedure.
• Effectively conduct pre-operational and post operational checks of swing stage scaffold (particular awareness of controls, alarms and particular safety devices.

 

Licensing Regulations
