FIRST AID COURSES

 

 

Sun Coast Training & Accreditation have the following First Aid courses available:

 

APPLY FIRST AID

HLTFA301B Apply First Aid

Incorporating

HLTCPR201A Perform CPR

HLTFA201A Provide Basic Emergency Life Support

 

 

CPR

HLTCPR201A Perform CPR

 

 

FIRST AID REFRESHER

 

 

Apply First Aid is otherwise known as Senior First Aid.  This course be conducted in 1 day, however, students are required to complete a a workbook prior to commencement.  The Apply First Aid certification is valid for three years. Upon expiry, students are required to undertake a First Aid Refresher course.

 

To ensure you keep up your abilities in first aid up to date and to keep your Apply First Aid certificate current, it is recommended that you complete the CPR unit every 12 months. 

 

All three of these courses are available at Sun Coast Training & Accreditation on a fortnightly basis.

 

Delivery

All training and assessment is conducted at our “One Stop Training Shop” located at 219 Forestry Road, Landsborough, however, courses can be conducted at the client's premises provided the training room facilities are suitable. 

 

Duration

Apply First Aid is a 1 day course.  This involves a workbook that must be completed prior to the course.

The refresher is a one day course without workbook

The CPR is a ˝ day course.

 

 

Fees and Charges

Course fees are payable at time of booking.  The course fee includes the workbook that must be completed prior to the course.  Course fees are as follows:

 

Apply First Aid      $110

CPR                      $55

Refresher             $85

 

 

Refund Policy

The Refund Policy confirms that refunds are provided as appropriate within an acceptable time frame.

 

 

Units of Comptency

Units of competency differ for each course.

 

Apply First Aid course covers (3) three Units of Competency:   HLTFA301B Apply First Aid,              HLTCPR201A Perform CPR & HLTFA201A Provide Basic Emergency Life Support

 

CPR course covers (1) one Unit of Compentency:   HLTCPR201A Perform CPR

 

Refresher course incorporates the (3) three units of competency as per Apply First Aid course.

 

 

Employability Skills

Employability skills are non-technical skills which play a significant part in contributing to an individual's effective and successful participation in the workplace. Licensing Regulations

Upon successful completion of the unit, participants will be issued with a Statement of Attainment.

 

Occupational Workplace First Aid

 

Course Overview

This course consists of 3 units that will prepare a workplace first Aid representative wth the skills necessary to successfully operate in the workplace. The course includes:

 

·         State/Federal & relevant sections of occupational health & safety legislation & documentation

·         occupational First Aider responsibilities

·         how to ensure a health & safety in the  workplace

·         responsibilities of the workplace first aider

·         first aid rooms and kits

·         communicable diseases

·         the use of personal protective equipment

·         resuscitation techniques (including CPR)

·         moving a casualty and evacuation

·         automated external defibrillation

·         safety hazards

·         treatment of wounds and injuries

·         major trauma

·         infection control

·         clinical assessment of casualties

·         administering medication

·         Advanced Resuscitation

·         guidance in manual handling

 

Outcomes

Students will receive upon completion a wallet card and a statement of attainment in:

HLTFA402B  Apply advanced first aid  - valid 3 years

HLTFA403A  Apply advanced resuscitation techniques  - valid 1 year

HLTFA404A Manage first aid in the workplace

 

Prerequisits

A current Senior or Advanced First Aid certificate is needed.

A current Occupational First Aid certificate is needed for recertification.

 

Delivery

Duration

Al training and assessment will be delivered over 4 days delivered as a block. This consists of face to face delivery, and  workbook.
